Lately I have received a few request to do posts on before and after makeup looks, and I thought to myself, why didn't I think of this...it is such a fantastic idea! Most times when I'm doing makeup on my clients I get so wrapped up in what I'm doing that I never think about taking pictures.
Ok, so lets meet Josia!
Josia is one of our Chrysalis models, who has been modeling for us for years. She is always willing to let me have my way with her face and is always willing pose for hours in front of my camera.
Last week she was heading out for a night on the town and asked if I could give her a sexy vibrant look. So here is what I came up with:
A little contouring
What I used:
As the first step, I applied a Prism Camera Ready face primer to her face, followed by Milani foundation in "Spice Almond"
Next I did a little contouring and highlighting with Milani cream to powder foundations in " Caramel Brown" (contour) and "Sand" (highlight). Over the top of the highlighter, I applied a little Prism Shimmer Lotion.
On the cheeks I used Maybelline cream blush in "Plums Up"
lips have always fascinated me. Ombre simply means shading or graduation from
light to dark, and I think it is a great method to jazz up the lips as the
colour combinations and variations of this technique are endless.
I know that this is not a new technique, but I am just now realizing that I
have never done a post on this popular trend.
most fav way of creating an ombre lip is to use the darkest shade around the
outer lip as it adds a sharp definition and to use a lighter shade in the
center to reflect the light which creates the illusion of soft fuller
lips. Click to Read and See More...
back! I have certainly missed you all over the last couple of weeks.
This hurricane really put me behind schedule, nevertheless I am so glad
it's over and we made it through.
Ok so today's topic is our Prism makeup essentials....essentials that every gal should have in their makeup arsenal. When putting the Prism makeup line together, I wanted to be sure to include a few multi-tasking products that work well and compliment any makeup brand. As you all know, products that have the ability to multi-task effectively really make me happy!
am so grateful to say that we made it through Gonzalo! This was a BEAST
of a hurricane that slammed us for approx. 27 hrs with winds reaching
146 mph. There were many roofs lost and some major property damage, but I
am so happy that there was no lives lost during this hurricane.
has done an amazing job at restoring power and there is only about 3,000 of us left without electricity. I am hopeful that power will be
restored to the remainder of us in the next couple of weeks, until then
we will have to continue dipping water from our tanks to get baths,
flush toilets etc.
Thank you so much to you all for your kind words, prayers and encouragement to what was one of the scariest time in my life.
will be back to blogging as soon as I can (as soon as I get some power)
but in the meantime, I will still be making my rounds via my Blackberry
and reading your fab blogs.
Here is a link to a few videos of before, during and after Gonzalo
will be a way from my blog, as my country hectically prepares for one
of the worst hurricanes…Hurricane Gonzalo, due to hit us on
has become a major threat to Bermuda as it is now a category 3 and is
predicted to batter us with tropical and hurricane force winds for approx 27hrs. It’s an understatement to say that I
am terrified…but I am sooo terrified.
For those of you gals who are not
familiar with hurricane ratings, they are rated upon strength on a scale
of 1 to 5...category 1 being the weakest (wind speed of 74-94 mph) and
category 5 being the strongest (winds of 156 mph and greater) So you
can imagine the lashing that Bermuda is about to face…uggh! You can also
take a peek at Sharkoil.bm for more info on hurricanes.
